The Citea Lyon is a practical aparthotel offering self catering accommodation in city's eighth district; five kilometres from Old Lyon. The 115 functional studios and apartments have simply decorated interiors with fabrics in bold tones and modern furnishings. All offer kitchenettes equipped with microwaves, refrigerators, electric hobs and cookware. Guestrooms also include cable television, office areas with free high speed Internet ports and direct dial telephones.
Guests can peruse free daily newspapers over breakfast before setting off on sightseeing or business. Multilingual staff at the front desk can assist with business services, and travellers can make use of the laundry service. Parking is available to drivers. While the hotel does not house a restaurant, guests can enjoy a variety of nearby dining options, as Lyon is known for its fine restaurants and traditional eateries known as 'bouchons'. A UNESCO World Heritage Site, Lyon also offers a number of good museums, including the Cloth Museum, Decorative Arts Museum and Printing Press Museum, all four kilometres from the hotel's vicinity. Guests can explore the 'traboules' of Old Lyon, covered passageways which connect buildings and lead to spiral stairways and secret courtyards. Fourvi�re Hill and Basilica, six kilometres from the hotel in the northern part of the city, offer views over the city and beyond. Lyon Saint Exupery (Satolas) Airport is six kilometres and a ten minute drive from the hotel.

Trains run from the airport's TGV station and serve many French destinations. A taxi rank is located in front of Terminal 1, level 1. A taxi desk is also located on level 1 in the central hall. A four line metro system and over 85 bus lines service Lyon its surroundings. Tickets for both systems are obtained at city kiosks, the train stations, vending machines and from bus drivers. Lyon is also great to explore on foot; Rue Victor Hugo and Rue de la Republique traverse the central city and extend across the Saone River into Vieux Lyon.
