Location. The Colomba D'Oro Hotel is a converted 14th century friars' monastery located in Verona, Italy. The Roman Amphitheatre is positioned 150 metres away, and the Castelvecchio Museum stands 300 metres from the hotel.
Hotel Features. The entrance hall of this medieval property has been redecorated with tromp d'oeil frescoes in the fashion of the 15th century. The hotel serves complimentary buffet breakfasts each morning in a room supported by ancient walls and displaying wooden beams, stonework and an 16th century arch. Several restaurants offer dining service in the nearby area. The renovated bar is distinguished with red stained wood, granite and mirrors, and is located on the site of the former chapel. Function rooms accommodate up to 60 people, and wireless Internet access is available in public areas of the hotel. This property offers transportation to and from Verona Airport. From Verona Airport:
Approximate distance to the hotel is 12 kilometres.
A bus runs every 20 minutes to the Verona train station which is located 1.5 kilometres from the centre. Taxis are available outside the terminal and the hotel operates a shuttle service. The historical center of Verona is closed to traffic and can be accessed on foot, only. City buses are orange and tickets must be bought from tobacco shops and news agents before boarding.
